I faced a dilemma writing my first blog. With so many hot topics in this real estate market, where do I start? As I discussed this with my husband, our daughter interrupts. " Did you run out of yogurt today at the office, Mom?" Yogurt!! Has she any idea of the countless phone calls , follow ups, meetings etc that we deal with on a daily basis. Is she aware of the constant service provided to our clients 24/7 and the countless negotiations to close a deal? Do I tell her about the numerous hours spent educating ourselves about every related topic in the industry? No, instead I answer " Yes dear, we ran out of yogurt today!"

We're out of chocolate too ...
Many years ago my eldest son had our office manager take me out of a very important meeting to take his "urgent" phone call. Knowing that he was just 10 years old and at home with the sitter after school, I was in a panic because I had no idea what had happened, if the sitter had not arrived etc, so I left the meeting to grab the phone call and here is what he said, "Dad I can not find anything to write on but there is a G I Joe special coming on this evening at 7:00, can you write it down so we remember to watch it?"
What is important to some of us may not be important to others, our children are very important to us and at times we forget that their needs are very different from our own. We still laugh about that phone call and that was 20 years ago.
